Default Anyone else missing a lot of calls?

I'm missing a LOT of calls on my Sprint Q. I'll have signal and receive text messages all day long, but every dang time my girlfriend calls my phone just plain doesn't ring (it rings on her end and then goes to voicemail, and then after she leaves her voicemail I'll get the voicemail notification).

I've had Sprint for around 5 years and never had this issue. Is it the Q, or is my Q defective?

Depends....do you at any point during the day go into Wireless Manager and turn your phone's signal on/off? If so, this could be why you are missing calls as your phone will basically seem like it is "off" to the network and enabling the phone in wireless manager doesn't seem to fix this. You might want to try a soft reset next time you see you have a missed call and then try calling your phone from a land line.

Just a suggestion, hopefully you can fix this.

Happens all the time on my Sprint phone. Emails get delayed too, if delivered at all.

Yeah. I never go in and turn the phones signal off. I get text messages fine, voice mail notifications fine, everything: just plain doesn't ring.

I'm just really wanting to know if this is something that might be fixed if I were to get a different Q...

Ok, well now that I know that much, I think you might want to go for the swap cliff. The only other suggestion i have is for your provider to reprovision your phone number on the network. If you call into tech support they would be able to "repush" your number through the network.

Just a thought, but your best bet is to probably swap.

This happens on my Sprint Q when it's checking email or is on a data connection. Voice is supposed to override data on EV but WILL NOT on 1x.

The phone is on a data connection when the little PDA icon appears on the upper line of your screen. (the double arrows only indicate a connection is available)

More info is available @ Qusers.com at:

Hope this helps

This IS the answer. The Sprint CDMA network will only do one this at a time. If you have any active internet activity, the phone will not ring. This is not a EV Vs 1X situation. It's voice VS data. Just like if you are on your phone for a while and when you hang up you get the internet error message. John has it spot-on.

No wonder spint cancelled a bunch of their "problem customers"......that is a pretty weak excuse they have there.

Not an excuse, but a technology limitation. 4G - WiMaxx will allow concurrent data and voice, but that will not begin to roll out until late this year.
