Anyone have firsthand knowledge of Sprint releasing someone from their contract without verifying the new address?

I mean if you log into your account and sign up for paperless online statements then change your mailing address to a remote part of the US. If you call back a week later claiming no service around your new home will they want some proof of your new address? IE will they ask you to fax a copy of your electric bill or your new drivers license or something like that to them before waiving the ETF? Or will they mail you a form you have to fill out and mail back to them or something like that?

Or are they just like "OK, sorry to hear that sir. I'll close your account for you."

How would you go about this if your under contract and ported your number out from under them? I assume you would have to dispute the ETF after the fact if you port it?

I'm not interested in leaving. I'm just wondering if this works outside of having an address of someone you really know to use as your "new address".

I assume you want to cease all use of your Sprint cell a few days prior to calling them, and obviously don't call them from your cell that's still on the network in your old area just to play it safe. (I guess you could still be at your old address but already know your new address doesn't get Sprint coverage.)

And the buying the phones at the end of the month thing...i don't know about other areas but i know the store a few miles from us is always so busy its damn near impossible not to hit quota...and as for my store...we're slow all the time...so the end of the month is no different than the beginning or the middle to me...its not car sales...

Otherwise...that moving to the desert thing i have seen work many times. The rentention thing is always great...retention will do just about anything. And the corporate discounts kick ass (but i don't think it goes up to 28%...i think 25 is the max and thats boeing)

Interesting read!

sero is only supposed to be used for actually friends or family. It still comes with a contract and yes you actually have to work for a legit company in order to get a discount. Sprint does check up on these things and you would actually be doing the rep harm if you try to lie. Be honest.

Sprint will be changing the upgrade method soon. Basically if a customer hasn't used their upgrade discount and they have changes esns over and over they will still qualify. I believe it will start this September.
