Need Help Wireless Sync Deleted

My Wireless Sync Client on the Q has been accidntally deleted. This was preinstalled and I cannot find a ling at Verizon for this client to re-install. Since I am using their website and this is "free" I would like to find a way to get this back on the Q.

I also see the back-up functionality of activesync has been removed. What are the best alternatives for this capability which would have been a solution to this issue?

Since Wireless Sync assumes that it is pre-installed, the only way that I know to get it back would be to do a Master Reset, which would re-install it from the ROM.

Im with SDM but I would call customer service first and make sure that there is nothing they can do first. Master Reset may be your only option other than that though.

If you have been doing wireless sync in the past, master reset shouldn't be that big of a deal. Of course you will have to reinstall your apps, but all of your data should sync right back up from your wireless sync backup. I have had to do this a few times from installing "questionable" software, and finding out the hard way that it really, really, didn't work (locked my phone up).

Informative Found link

After searching thru numerous forums and internet searches I found the following link with some clients including the Q.

Client Download

Worked fine. Back in business. Now if I can just get my laptop to do wireless sync.......

Thanks for the advice and pass this along to others who may be working on their devices well after their mind has gone to bed.

Thanks for the advice and pass this along to others who may be working on their devices well after their mind has gone to bed.

I do not recall ever deleting wireless sync but it appears (as of two days ago) that its no longer on my phone. I tried opening 'wireless sync' from the recently opened programs list from my phone and it says it cannot find the directory. I looked and sure enough, either can I. I know where it used to be on the phone and its no longer there.

In any event, I was searching online last night and found the above mentioned site for the client download. I downloaded the cab file several times, each time removing the previously installed version and replacing it with the newer one. I tried installing onto my memory card and i tried installing onto the device. It appears to install successfully, but I cannot find the actual program, wireless sync, on the phone.

Also, I remember 'upgrading' to a newer version of wireless sync not too long ago and it installed something else, if I recall correctly Home Device or something but it had weather, trip, contacts, etc, just like wireless sync. Thats also gone now.

Any help on being able to reinstall wireless sync and locating the application to open it once its successfully installed would be great. I also checked and I can log into wireless sync via the internet on my computer with no problems.

Again, any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Never mind my post above. I just switched over to Active Sync. Got it working fine without any problems, so active sync it is.

Spent 2 hours on the phone with Verizon Tech Support. All they wanted to do was have me do a full reset.

Checked and my problem seemed to be that the clientshell.exe and one other file were missing when I would install the application. I didn't have any .exe's in the folder after installation, even though it said successful. Who knows.
