i have the windows vista cdrom but its for dell would it work if i intalled that cd on my hewit packward anyoe know please

probably not. Those types of cds are drive images that only work with the bios it was made for.

It should work, yes. If not, let me know, I have been using Vista since December 2006 and installed it on laptops, desktops, you name it.

To clarify, if it is a Dell recovery disk it won't work.
