Music or Audio Winamp Mobile

Hi Folks,

I did a quick search and did not find anything on the topic. Looks like Winamp and Orb are uniting forces with AOL to bring Winamp Mobile to us. It is still in Beta, but the idea looks pretty cool. Has anybody tried it?

Here is the linky

not sure if we meet all these requirements...

Here is some more:
To use Winamp Remote on Mobile, you must have a wireless data plan, Web browser, and a streaming media player: 3gp, RealPlayer®, Windows Media® Player, or Flash®. Charges from your wireless carrier may apply for Winamp Remote on Mobile. Not all services are available on all wireless carriers or all wireless devices. Check with your wireless carrier to confirm that product use is consistent with your carrier's Terms of Service. Winamp Remote does not support the streaming of DRM protected music.

Looks like it should work RB...seems like a repackaging of ORB for music and ORB is reported to work. Nothing I'm interested in playing with. 2.5 gb of music on my SD and my Slingplayer handles most of my entertainment needs.

I'm sure some members will try it soon and report back.

Although I won't probably set it up I'm always interested in the knowledge of whether and how things are working.

Hey all,

I have used winamp remote on my old Sprint a920 - all it takes is a media player, and the ability to get on the net form your phone... i don't see why it wouldn't work on the Q.

Matt!

I tried winamp Remote and it worked so well that I created a straight Orb account so I could also view photos and other data from my Q.
FYI, it also works extremely well from my Nintendo Wii, its the only media streamer that I have tried so far that works well on the console. The interface automatically changes based on the device you are using it from...
Be warned with the full version of Orb: by default it opens file access to every drive on your computer. Even though its password-protected, it's not something I was personally comfortable with.
