Those are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT applications. SmartToolkit is a Start Menu replacement, combined with softkey skinning, pop-up plugins, toolbar (cut/copy/paste etc) and screensaver stuff.
Facade displays appointments, tasks and launcher shortcuts right on your homescreen, if wanted in tabbed mode.

I think the Facade launcher part is only exciting if it's skinned (included in a skin, like my X Reloaded).
BTW Am I allowed to post in that thread? I have Facade, so am I against the thread's rules? ^^
