Question VZAccess manager for Mac

Verizon just released their access manager software for Mac recently. Has anyone tried to use this software to allow the Moto Q to be tethered to your Mac and be used as a modem? I downloaded and installed the app on the Mac without any problems. When I connect the Q to the Mac, the Q is recognized on the USB port, but does not recognize it as a USB modem. The setup wizard for the Verizon app cannot communicate with the Q, even though it is present on the system profiler on the USB port. Spent several hours with Verizon tech support and on a three way call with Verizon and Apple and no one has been able to figure out why this isn't working. Does anyone have a thought on this problem or has anyone else had this problem?

Never could get the phone to work as a tethered modem, even after many hours of tech support with Verizon (they even got a three way call going with an Apple tech which stiil resolved nothing). Tried a lot of workarounds with no success and contacted Verizon again, requesting a higher level of support. I was connected with a Verizon tech who is a Mac user with a Moto Q. Unlike other Verizon techs who had advised me that you could not use the Q as a bluetooth modem, this tech said you could definitely use the bluetooth modem feature and helped me set it up. It works great. You will have to pay the additional $15 monthly fee to activate the modem feature. For me, the Bluetooth connection is much more desirable than the USB tether, so I am happy with the way it turned out. Contact Verizon tech support and they should be able to set up the bluetooth feature. It works great with my IMac G5 desktop, my Intel MacBook and even with my Palm TX and you don't need the data cable, or the Access Manager software.
