I just tried to do the same thing and got the same result. What I ended up doing is to download the file tcpmp.smartphone.0.72rc1.cab and copy it to the device through ActiveSync. Then run the file on the device and it will install properly. It worked great for me.

Question tcpmp trouble

i am having trouble with tcpmp as well. i downloaded it from http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ and now i can't really do anything with it. i extracted the files and now there's like 15 files i don't know what to do with. i tried to open one of the files but i couldn't and my computer said that it can't open it without knowing where it comes from. I'm really confused about this program and i'd appreciate any help.

That is exactly where I downloaded it from. You need to download the file tcpmp.smartphone.0.72RC1.cab from the Windows Mobile CAB section. You don't extract anything. Just copy the file onto the Q using ActiveSync. Then using the File Manager program located on the Q, highlight the file and select it. That will cause the file to run and install onto the device.

In File Manager, highlight the file, then go to Menu, File, Rename, right arrow once to un-highlight, then backspace until you remove the .txt from the end of it. Click Done. Filename should no longer have .txt on end. Click on file, should work now.

I cannot find the equalizer (even though I have it selected).

Im running TCPMP .71 RC1. Can others see the equalizer? If so, where is it?

Problem #2 - where is the option to sycn audio and video - I dont see it?

Thanks

To find the Equalizer in TCPMP go to Options > Settings... > Select Page > Equalizer. Sometimes it helps just to browse thru the options and settings of an app. to get familiar with it.

As for sync audio and video, don't believe there is such an option, as I just browsed thru ALL the options and settings and saw nothing like this.

If you are referring to syncing audio and video files from your PC to your Q, all you need do is connect your Q to your PC via USB cable and WMP (not sure about others) should detect your device and allow you to sync files to it. Then on your Q you just point TCPMP to those files and voila!, they should play.

ok thanks. On my current version of tcpmp (running on a palm OS) I can adjust the audio +/- a few milliseconds so that they match up. This option must not be available in the smartphone version - too bad, because the first movie I downloaded, the actors speak about a 1/2 sec before you hear what they are saying - its very annoying.
