  • Advanced
    • VHQ checked
    • XviD checked
This yields a ~2hr movie @ ~225±10MB and a 1hr tv ep @ ~95±5MB.

You didn't ask, but the programs I use are:
  1. cladDVD.NET (to rip from DVD)
  2. DVD2AVI (to convert to AVI)
  3. VirtualDub (to reencode it in XviD & sound I like)
  4. PocketDivXEncoder (to shrink it to Qable size)
Hope this helps; keep the rubber-side down.

I use pocket dvd, but I'm going to try a few of your suggestions - No reason you shouldn't have a back up plan...

To be fair, it can take up to 9 hours just to completely convert one (movie) file to be Qable. Both DVD2AVI & VirtualDub reencode one frame at a time. A lengthy process, to be sure, but I'm a bit fussy that way. I like my bittorrents et al just so, ya know?

Best,
.

I'm more interested in any suggestions anyone has on buffering with tcmp while trying to play you tube videos. It will play for a few secs and then buffer then play and buffer. What can I do here? I have no issues with movies I play with tcmp just you tube stuff. My current buffering settings were all default and are:
1184 - Normal size
3 - Preload at underrun
64 - Preload audio.
Maybe the buffering settings aren't what's getting me here. I thought when I uninstalled the program after I tweaked it and reinstalled everything life would be good again..I was wrong.
