Default Synchronizing Issues

Hello,
I am new to this forum. I searched for answers and could not find any to my problems:

1. Purchased Moto Q 9m (Verizon Wireless). I have Windows Vista 32 bit.
2. Windows Device Manager is installed but shows not connected when I
open it up. Yes the device is attached when I open it.
3. I receive a message from computer sometimes saying, "Your device is
currently locked. To connect to or synchonize with the PC please
authenticate on your device.
4.The device is asking for some kind of user password I didn't know I had so I
put all possibilities into the screen and did not have any luck.
5. I can not synchronize anything.
6. I am not currently using a data plan.
7. I have talked to Verizon three times, Norton 2 times and microsoft 0 times.
I believe you all are the experts.

Thank you very much. I really need help.

That's a separate program you have to download. Click on the link for Big-D's apps page in the link RB directed you to.

Now I am having trouble syncing my outlook or should I say my windows mail contact etc. I have Vista. To set it up, it is asking me about the POP3 and SMTP but I don't know that information. I think the domain is live.com or hotmail.com whichever microsoft uses. Can you help me with this too, please and thank you?
