i use windows vista 64 bit and am wondering if i went to thunderbird instead of outlook if there is a way to synch my moto q? i am also wondering if there is not a way and i am assuming there is not because i cant seem to find a program that can do this, is there plans in the future do implement this on thunderbird? i have seen one app that may or may not work but it doesnt look like it does or its popular.

Default

I recently started using Thunderbird with the calendar plug-in, Lightning. I find it is just as good as Outlook, some things better, some not as good. The price is right though.

I found two programs, Birdiesync and Finchsync, which allow you to sync your contacts and calendar to your Q. Birdiesync costs 19 euros (about 25-30 dollars), but Finchsync is free. I tried Birdiesync for a few days and it seems to work just like Activesync and Outlook. I didn't play with it enough to see how it handles multiple phonebooks and calendars. Finchsync allows you sync multple phonebooks and calendars. It keeps track of which items belong on which computer, so you can keep your business items separate from your personal items. I liked this feature, so I decided to try Finchsync for a while first.

Finchsync is a little complicated to set up, but they have very good instructions on their website. It is very flexible in setting up the way items sync. So far, I have been very happy with the program. The main drawback is you have to manually start the sync. If I decide this becomes to much of an issue, I will purchase Birdiesync.

Birdiesync works with Activesync. Connect your phone with your computer and when Activesync connects to your device Birdiesync will update your contacts and calendar.
