Default storage card not recognized in media player

I have a kingston 2gb card and am able to copy files and music to it but when I go to the library of the media player it only shows My Device.
i called verizon who told me to call motorola who told me to call microsoft...

the motorola doofus told me that i should see Storage Card as well in the menu, is this true??

My problem is that when I update the library it will not port in my songs on the card. I can browse to the card via media player but that is a pain...

has anyone seen this b4?? any help is much appreciated...

Yeah, you should abe able to view your storage card for the WMP menu.

Menu > Library > My Device / Storage Card.

If you can't, that might be the reason the library won't update for you. I'm assuming you can access your memory card through the File Explorer?

i talked to 2nd level tech support at verizon and the guy had his personal Q with the original software version and a 1gb card and he was able to see Storage Card.

Eddie, what software version is on your phone?? You can view it by going to Settings > More > More > Phone Settings > Phone Information. I am running Q2-BP_C_06.07.03P which is the updated version. Also what is the brand and size of your storage card. Mine is a Kingston 2gb.

So the problem is with either the updated software or a size limitation of the card. Or it could just be that the problem is with my card not being recognized by the media player..

Alright thanks... I'm starting to narrow it down. I had MP open and inserted the card and it said that there is a storage card that was inserted, Do you want to search. I did and still it did not add the songs to the library nor did it show that there was a storage card in the library menu... There has got to be something up with my MP... I may try a different storage card and see what happens....

I'm running the previous version, haven't tried the software update, should be doing so this weekend.

I've got a Sandisk 1GB.

I would've thought it was the storage card limitations, but since "Swagner" is running a similar set-up, it's hard to tell. Sorry this doesn't provide much help.

In the wmplayer,
Go to Menu->Library
Go to Menu->Library again
select Storage Card, not my device
When I select Storage Card, I can see all my files!

Also with wmplayer desktop 11 beta, I can sync MotoQ. But don't know yet
how wmplayer in MotoQ recognize files...

it turns out that there was a problem with the contacts in the card slot on my old Q. I got a P5 Q and now it works great. I am able to see the storage card in MP..

just got a new Q today an popped in a memory card, and just like everyone else couldnt get media player to use it as the library...

I added one mp3 manually through file explorer, then used the select file option from the menu... after doing that I could choose storage device from the library menu...

hope this helps.
