I did a "broader" search which led me to the same issue being asked here, Qusers and Howards. Some got answers from the PhatSpell folks to "unlock your device...duhh, and make it your 1st app???"

Didn't try Qoolapps...or a temp uninstall either, cause QCaps is staying!

oh i hear you, QCaps is most likely my favorite app with Facade as a close second... it's one of those apps, that you install and think how did i ever do without it. (and i am not getting paid to say this :}

I get the same "device security settings do not allow to initialize keyboard hook" error and do not have any Q apps installed.

I did throw in a support ticket with the PhatWare folks...we'll see if I get the same answer! And maybe mrdrago has a secret to tell when he returns!

I got this already from Phatware regarding Qcaps vs Phatspell:

Maybe this weekend I'll try uninstalling Qcaps, installing PhatSpell first and then Qcaps second!! Kinda doubting both will work now....

On the Qcaps site they say other known "hooking" apps are Keylock and XBAR. Vito copypaste has been updated to work...I did remove it though for my try, plus the fact that PhatSpell comes with copy/paste. I guess I need to check all the other apps I have to see if any "hook"! Like I'd know.

also, Qcaps support says to please report any apps not playing well with theirs and they will try to make them play friendly! We shall see

Confirmed...PhatSpell and QCaps together is a no go. Phatspell with Qcaps removed was quite a nice app though. I couldn't get it to run in the background after a reset, but clicking on it started it right up. The copy/paste function worked great too. Oh well, back to Qcaps and Vito, and some spelling errors....

Unless, anyones used or heard that HookMgr works?? Its freeware that supposedly lets "hooked" apps run together. Looked kinda freeware'ish to me, and couldn't find any talk about it. Anyone??

I, err....nope. Was kinda hoping someone would chime in and say STOP!!!, or yea, works great!! This is basically all the info I could find right here. Not much!!

I might try it after Thankgiving....until then I want to stay "thankful", and not be "regretful"!!!
