Software Wish List - Motorola Q Forum

Put on your thinkin Caps and start laying some pipe dreams people!!

What kind of software do you wish existed? What do you want your Q to do for you that currently can not but is potentialy possible?

I have a few to start:

A software program that allows you to use your IRC as a remote controler!! I doubt the IRC is strong enough but it would be pretty cool. You would also need to locate make/model equipment frequencies and the corresponding signal (comand codes). The software would probably be the easy part LOL

This one I think has ALOT OF POTENTIAL. A program that you install on your desktop and phone that allows you to control your winamp via bluetooth. I could manage my playlist at a party I'm having through my phone.... That would be PIMPIN!!

I also wish for a better version of Xbar3. It freezes way to much for me, slows down my Q, and doesn't offer a "kill" button. Oh, and every time I try to take a picture or hit the center button I pul up XBar accedentaily... need a hold time/reassign button adjusment too. Fix these problems and I'll buy your product

there are a few programs listed HERE for bluetooth winamp control...not sure if they work or not but give them a whirl!

Aaron, i can control my music coming from my stereo with my Q. I have a Motorola DC800 which i hook up via RCA cables to my stereo receiver, then all i have to do is connect/sync my phone to the bluetooth adapter and stream my music to the receiver. Im not sure about controlling the volume though, i dont really use it. Ill check it out tomorrow when i get my phone back and let you know about the volume situation. I have a 4gb card (check my post) so i have plenty of room to store songs. But it would be cool if you had a party with the music streamin from your phone.

a good free program that would allow you to connect to the instant messaging servers and stay on for the day without draining the battery. thats my dream right now. also a way to stream flv files would be nice so we could all go to our favorite video sites (spikedhumor for me) while bored at work. and since i have sprint, MMS would be nice lol.

perhaps software that automagiclly checks every so often for unused running apps and kills them..

hahaha...how about...if your in the car and you think 'hmmm i wish my Q was a breathalizer to see if im drunk' you probably shouldnt drive

HAHAHAH, for sure, I definitely don't condone drinking & driving, but the whole "blow into this hose" thing attached to your car is kind of a farce as well. Just get your "sober" friends to give it a blow for you and your car starts right up, drunk and all. I think a real handy feature on the Q would be a Fish Finder, but that would kind of go with hardware/software combo.

you could get a bluetooth fish finder GPS!

I really think the sport fishing industry could benefit from the Q. You can also take pictures of your catch so that when you say "It was THIS big....." <Holds up arms to show huge fish> people will actually believe you.
