SMS not sending! - Motorola Q Forum

I just bought a Q9 off ebay. The only problem I'm having is sometimes when I write an SMS it wont send. I press the send button and it won't do anything. Other times it works fine. Any suggestions? I think the phone was refurbished and then unlocked from the network, so maybe that has something to do with it. Any ideas would be helpfull!

Did the seller offer a refund period? Have you exceeded that period yet. If not you may want to contact him and let him know about the problems you're having. It's not going to be covered my warranty (maybe) or insurance since you purchased from a 3rd party. I would try the seller first and hope he is willing to stand behind his merchandise.

i would first eliminate the possibility of software conflict by doing a hard reset and then monitor if you still have sms sending problem without installing any third party software.

next, use the same sim card on the other phoe to make sure you can really send it out.

if you can call but not send, then perhaps it's the sms text center number is not correct, check on that as well.

an occasional issue is not woth a master reset (IMHO).
I can be something as simple as email being polled when a txt is sent. In that case it may have to wait until line is clear before it can send. The OP can also try updating the tower info.

Thanks guys for your input. I did a hard reset and the problem seems to have fixed itself!
