HI Everyone,

I thought I'd just chime in - I've updated the IMSMS thread - it has been tested to work on Verizon's Motorola Q (the hardware which I was able to access) - you can visit this thread (sorry to thread jack here) if you wish to followup with IMSMS.

Happy Holidays and God Bless!

Yea,

it's only sending one letter for me as well. I don't have time to mess around now, so I uninstalled it.

I've read that some people were able to get the ripped threaded app from a Treo ROM to work (there are two version one for wm5 and one for wm6) on their Qs and similar type phones (smartphones - no touchscreen - landscape screens). However the problem with the app is that there is no "backspace" key mapped to the app, pressing the backspace key on the Q simply exists the app and the text is extremely small. Furthermore you cannot uninstall the app - only master reset or restoring the phone via a backup. I've used the ripped Palm Threaded app on my previous wm5 Touchscreen device and it was fine for the most part. Here's a link to a page where the guy has posted screenshots and his current findings: http://gadgetsonthego.net/2007/03/pa...orks-on-t.html

there is also another application that's supposed to work located here: http://oldsap.blogspot.com/2007/08/s...excalibur.html

If you read in the comments you'll discover that it isn't perfect either...

But seeing as how we're discussing this I thought I'd round out the contenders.
