Yes, if you have a video card that supports TV out. But the slingbox controls devices with infrared. If you have a infrared control for your computer, then you're set, because there is a website that hosts a comunity that creates IR codes for just about any device imaginable.

Default Slingbox AV

I have the Slingbox AV and can't believe that I can watch TV while out and about. Shopping with the wife has never been so fun!!

I also like to listen to the Audio of our local news channel while driving home from work.

I agree with the extended battery comment, I have the 3200 battery, and it is a life saver!!

The only thing I wish I could change is the screen brightness, I have the candlelight app installed, but when I launch SlingMobile, the screen goes back to the default brightness. But, who really cares, I can watch my Tivoed shows on my phone, how much better is life going to get?

Anyone found a good set up for Favorites?

Not sure if anybody's looking, but the slingbox pro just went on sale on Buy.com for $179.99... and if you're new to Google Checkout, it'll be $169.99 (+tax if applicable) shipped.

That's a great deal. I have the Pro and very happy with it. Add $50 for the dongle if you have an HD box. Otherwise you have to change your output to 480p when using the SlingBox.

Camera or Multimedia

Hi all,
Hi all,
I'm another big fan of the slingbox, so much so that I have 2 boxes, one for me and one for a family member.

I tried it with the Q, and it works quite well. When you start up the special Slingbox software on the Q, it takes a couple of minutes for it to optimize (freezes and skips) but then it appears to work fine.

It is so incredibly fun!

Are there special tweaks I can do for my Moto-Q phone to optimize it for video streaming? I'm with Verizon and the video I stream now is choppy and stalls after about 15 secs.

My only complaint is that the mobile version only holds 9 slings. Other than that, works great.

When you say it only holds 9 slings... what does that mean? I understand how the Slingbox works - in fact, one of the reasons I just got a Q9c is because I plan to add Slingbox - but since I don't have it yet, what does the number of slings equate to? Is it basically the same as number of "channels", or something altogether different?

Another Sling question for those of you already experienced with using it on a Q* -- I don't have any kind of cable box or DVR or anything like that. I just want to be able to plug my coax coming out the wall into the back of a Slingbox. Up till tonight I'd thought my only option is the Slingbox Pro since it's the only model I've seen anywhere lately that has a coax input on the back. Then tonight I found a "Slingbox Tuner" on Office Depot's site (link) for $179.

I've kicked myself for not buying the Slingbox Classic before they pulled it off the shelves, but is the Tuner a new version of that?
