Default Slick IM

I see quite a bit of talk about im clients.

but I rarely see slick im. imo this is the best im client with everything! all the protocols, a built in file manager and file opener, emotions, tabs, everything!

the ims are actually sent in real time with no lags (yes... I checked it)! the file transfer option is fantastic--I love it.

I personally like the appearance but I bet others are better in looks. its very customizable and it has my favorite price: free!

to find it: google slick lonelycat--should be one of the top hits. I would post a link but im potQ...

in short: slick im is a customizable, flexible, small, free, realtime, feature-rich im client. (did I mention free?)

I checked it out yesterday but kept getting an error when it tried connecting. I will try downloading it again in a few minutes as I got ticked off and deleted it. But you are correct, it does have a sweet interface and is in real time (supposedly as I couldnt get it to run). Best I've seen so far and I've tried quite a few. I've been using e-buddy mobile lately and it isnt bad as it reloads the page on its own, but it is slow and doesnt notify me of new messages. I have to keep checking the screen every so often.

From the website
Currently it is still in development, and alpha version is available for free for public testing.

I'd be very surprised if this is free if/when final version is released. Enjoy it for now, but expect to pay for it later.

Just re-installed it and everything works great. I like this app. a lot. I hope it remains free because it's really awesome.

*add on* I figured out the reason I wasn't getting a connection earlier, as you need to have your browser running in order for it to connect. It probably says something like that in the intructions on the site, but I normally just jump in with both feet lol

When I first downloaded yesterday and installed it i kept getting a "cannot connect socket 550" error. I wasnt connected via activesync when I tried connecting. I deleted it off my Q and then resinstalled it today. I tried connecting without opening the browser but connected to my laptop and voila, it connected right away (it was using my ISP to connect). I then disconnected from my laptop, started it back up and got the "cannot connect socket 550 error" like i did yesterday. I opened PIE and went to a generic website, went to SLick and tried signing on and boom, connected right away. Figured it needed the browser opened to connect or to be activesync connected.

when you got these errors did you ever try to reboot the device to see maybe if there was something in the way?
