Default Save IE Favorites?

First, kudos to the EQ crew for the sharp mobile version;

Second, the only thing missing is a Search feature;

Third, is there any way to save my Favorites to the storage card, a la the pim.vol file for contacts?

An entire can of Tag Body Spray (yes, I'm shameless and dirty sometimes) blew up next to my Q. It still works (posting with it now) but the screen is kind of oogy a few weeks later and a few of the letters stick.

I have insurance and there are no red dots inside the battery cover, but I've already replaced one Q and don't want to make a name for myself; further I'm not keen on starting over again.

OK, shameless, dirty, and lazy. At least I'm good looking....

Best,
.

Not sure if there is a file but I am able to sync my mobile favorites with my computer (and IE), through AS. They show up in a 'mobile favorites' folder on my computer's favorite list. Should be under Options in AS.

Thanks, troutseth; while that feature didn't work for me (prolly cuz of the Synch settings I have), you did cause me to do some exploring on my phone.

I found them, nicely organized under Mobile Device\My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Windows\Favorites.

'Preciate the reply.

Now, if they won't swap out this very fragrant phone for me, I found a tutorial over at qusers.com on removing the case - maybe I can clean the pad and wipe down the inside of the case window or something.

Best,
.

No problem. I think it may have to do with the verison of IE I have on my laptop (IE7). I tend to think I did not have the option with IE6.

Sorry about the other issue . . I am not a hardware guy. Just be careful when you dismantle!

Mobile Favorites was in IE 6 (and probably IE 5, too). However, it's a one-way feature -- items put in Mobile Favorites on your PC sync to your device, but Favorites on your device do not sync back to your PC.

true and good point. To have it work as a backup, you should create the favorite on your computer and sync with the Q.

I actually did this yesterday after a hard reset from Sprint. Yes, I did an activesync too, but since I wanted to be extra sure in case the sync didn't work. I just copied my Favorites file onto the Storage Card. And rather than syncing it back last night. I just copied & pasted the contents of the Favorite file that i stored on the storage card, back to the favorites folder in the Windows file. It worked great - no problem.

I concur. I'm posting this on my 3rd Q (the 1st bricked at the flash BIOS screen, the 2nd as described above) & the favorites were easy-as-pie to reintegrate.

Hopefully this will be my last one, but I've created a folder on my desktop containing all of the proggies and such I've installed a time or three.

Best regards,
.

For a POOR MAN'S BACKUP (only have my Q, no PC and no trusted access to one) I created a new folder in/on the SD and named it Windows, then copied my favorites to it. I then proceded to copy other files or folders over to the SD and am now showing 44.00MB FREE SPACE on my Q. Am going to run it that way--it's clean and fast!

Any of you know how to save a little RAM on the Q? It is running about 22.50-27.00MB FREE SPACE now...that's good, yes?

Hoping your holiday was...

winotree,

that's great that you copied/created that windows folder on your sd card and freed all that space. did you copy the entire windows folder from the device to the sd card? if not, how'd you know which files you could copy and what size sd card do you have?

my q is running a bit slow, going to see what i can do to speed it up. hopefully, whatever i do won't cause me to have to get another hard reset.
