HOW DID I KNOW WHAT FILES TO MOVE FROM Q TO STORAGE CARD? I just wondered what kept the file operating on the Q as oppossed to anywhere else--it's path, of course! So, for example, I created this PATH (using Total Commander or PHM Resistry Editor) on the SC:
STORAGE CARD\WINDOWS\APPMGR\*.* where *.* is the given filename and extension. I did not delete anything. I did, however, copy one small program in my original AppMgr file over to the storage card then tried to run the program. It worked! Oh, joy, I thought. Then I deleted that file, copied, checked and re-deleted until the orignal AppMgr on the Q was empty; then deleted that file. Everything worked fine. I had freed up memory on the Q!!
I have stopped experimentation at this point. As with anything: take this with as many grains of salt as needed. :nyuk-nyuk-nyuk:
Total Commander and PHM RegEdit are both freeware and both work equally well--I use them for different purposes...TC seems to be more methodical.
I have used it to move my Messaging folder (file) to the storage card, too (see EQ Search for this) although after a soft reset Windows wants to re-install it on the Q. Oh, well...
Hope this answers your question. Reminds me of a joke here in Texas--ask a Texan what time it is and he will tell you how to build a clock. :one last laugh: |
