| PushEffect i don't really want to resort to more software if not needed.. but since i have not yet got Wireless Sync to push my email i was peeking at this software, PushEffect, don't mind paying if it would solve my issue.
send myself an email (to Gmail.com) at 2.20 today, it's now 4:50, nothing yet.... so i guess, now i have an issue w/ Gmail AND Wireless Sync :]

heres a thought...did you ever uninstall or remove that consilient push software when you started doing wireless sync?

| i was reading up on the program on the pusheffect thread....
so does it send the mail to your account via SMS or is it actually pulling email from the server and sending you email....
the thread said something about setting up a hidden SMS account.... |

WS should do what i want, and the testing is far from over but i did receive the 3 test emails i grabbed out of the Gmail SPAM box (also need to figure out how the heck my name got in the SPAM list).
so... it seems like it works, but i don;t want to cheer to quick :}

anyway.. let's see, i send a test email to myself at 5:21pm and received it on the Q at 5:23pm. not too bad at all :}
lastely i need to find a definite answer if ClientShell.exe needs to run in order for this to work... i don't think so, but i think it get's started when mail is pushed and it just doesn't close/exit.

so your test email went through....did you lower your spam settings or was it something in WS?
as for clientshell.exe i have never seen it run on my Q...then again i never used WS...so perhaps it is related and is always running so it knows when mail is coming from the server.... |

| Guys:
I have the program and it SUCKS! You to gointo your email (Comcast, Sprint PCS, Gmail etc...) settings from your PC and have it forward a copy of the message to your phone (ex. 443XXXXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com). Make sure you check the boxes to leave a copy of the email on your email server. It will send a SMS messages to your phone, telling you that one of your email account has mail. When setting up Push Effect on the Q, you have to give it a signal to activate on the program when a message is received. You can use "@" for most email accounts.
The problem I'm having that I did all of that and it still doesnt work correctly. I get a regular sms messages from my Sprint account faster than the Push Effect sends me the sms message. (I know you guys have VW, but try going into your email settings a VW.com and see if the same thing happens for you.) My Comcast account responds sometimes hours later if at all. I've tried talking to them about it, but they only respond by email and they just tell you to read the FAQ. But Comcast is one of the email accoutn they claim works the best.
We have a system PopUp & Spam Blocker here at work, so I thought that maybe since I keep MY Q pluged in and Synched all day.....that maybe it was blocking the signal. NOPE! Still didnt work.
DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM!
*(BTW: how do I get the alerts to come to my cellphone and my PC email. That way I can stay connected?)
