| Photo Contacts Pro 5.02 - Assignable SMS tones & Pics - Issues... Hey all,
I thought I would try out the new Photo contacts pro (PCP) version 5.02.
A few of the features that really sold me on it were the SMS photo and SMS ringtone feature.
Well, it does work -- text messages from contacts will play the assigned ringtone, and their pic will show up. It's as if PCP intercepts the message and displays it though it's own interface. The message still shows up as read in the actual Q inbox as well..
What's horrible, is that PCP will unlock the phone when an SMS comes in and it will display the info on the screen. I don't know what it is, but for some reason, the fact that PCP unlocks my phone to receive an SMS REALLY annoys me. Perhaps because it's sooo easy to bump buttons and screw something up...
I hope there's a workaround or a fix for this... any thoughts? Tips?
Also, another HUGE issue, is that when responding to the PCP SMS screen, the backspace/erase button on the Q will not function... Super-annoying!
Oh yea, another issue... when the "deny call w/ sms response" feature is enabled, you have to hit a number key during an incoming call to activate that feature, and it never works... same for the answer w/ speaker phone feature...
This program is getting to big for itself....
Thanks,
Matt!

| Rude,
I still have it active -- but don't have it associated with the contacts button, and never actively use it -- i just let it sit in the background so I can have the photos larger when they come in. I use AgendaOne, or the default software to manage contacts...
Now, I wish there was a program like PCP that JUST took over the incoming photo part. That is, take EVERY feature away, accept to catch incoming calls, and show the larger picture... Maybe I will try the Non-Pro version which is basically for that reason -- (doesn't have all of the profiles, filters, etc) -- perhaps it's more efficient, and less buggy...

Matt! |
