Phone Number Entry Preference & Outlook - Motorola Q Forum

Hey all,

I know that when you manually enter a number into outlook, it automatically converts to the standard format of (xxx) xxx-xxxx - which is fine, because that's the format i love. However, when entering into the Q, the numbers will not auto-change into that format, they will stay clumped as xxxxxxxxxx. Now, what's funny, is that after a sync, the xxxxxxxxxx that was entered into the Q, will sync into outlook in the xxxxxxxxxx format, but will not auto format itself as it would if you would have entered xxxxxxxxxx manually into the outlook field...

Is there any way to have the Q use the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format?

It's just a lot cleaner.... (actually last night, i spent 1/2 hour changing the format of my 300 contacts in outlook...but it was worth it...)

i was wondering the samething and i dont think there is a way
and funny you should mention that as my outlook 2003 USED to do that then i upgraded to 2007 and it wont do that
i have to format it the right way or its just a bunch of numbers!

Your Outlook 2007 won't convert xxxxxxxxx to (xxx) xxx-xxxx if you type it directly into outlook? Odd -- I am on 2007, and it does it...

nope it does not which is really really odd!
(get annoying but ive learned to deal with it...maybe im missing a setting)
