Default Outlook Push from Work

OK, I have looked around for a while and whatever I have seen describing pushing an outlook email to my q9c is too far ahead in steps for me. I know I am a newb but you guys are pretty good at giving good advice.

I already tried going to outlook email and setting up my email from work to my phone but it couldnt find my domain, oakley.com. You might want to know, i tried it from my house and i was connected to my work computer.

I also tried setting up wireless sync without connecting my q to my work computer because i am not at work. I dont think i have a password and when it sends me one via text, i try it but it cant finalize setting up wireless sync.

all i want to do is get emails from my outlook at work to my q so i can answer them when i am out of work.

can anybody provide some easy instructions, i know im missing something like actually connecting my phone to my work computer but as i said im not there and need the emails over the weekend, any help would be great, thanks guys and gals!!

You'll need to check with your IT department if they have it, as push functionality is typically setup on the server side and not on the end user pc.

However, you can download the VzW Wireless Sync to your work PC, install it and have it push your my that way. You will need to choose the platform your company is using (Exchange or Domino {Lotus Notes}) and be able to specifiy the specific criteria Wireless Sync requires to work for.

Good Luck!

is your work email on MS Outlook or MS Exchange (networked Outlook)? If you are unsure, ask you company IT guy.

If not Exchange, then you probably POP. Open up outlook on you pc to confirm

I am having the same issues, I don't know where in the phone I can setup my microsoft exchange email using the information provided by my IT guy.

When I try and setup a new account I can only use POP/IMAP settings which are not correct for an exchange server etc.

Any thoughts?

open active sync on the Q
go to menu
and configure server or add server (i have my info already listed so im not sure if the menu name changes when you have info plugged in or not)

that should be where to add the stuff you need

Welcome to Everything Q!

We hope you enjoy hanging around.
Don't forget--There is a search area at the top of every page and "sticky" posts in different forums. Chances are your answer is already there.

This has been a canned, but very heartfelt, welcome.
