Office Sync problem...HELP

I have a Q from Alltel that suddenly stopped sending/receiving e-mail via office sync. I have never been able to get the Q to take the "required" software update and now I suddenly have no e-mail. I have been going back and forth with Alltel tech support and Seven (Office Sync software developer) for three weeks with no resolution. This happened exactly 11 days after the warranty ran out (go figure) so Alltel will not replace it. Insurance wants a $99.00 deductible (same cost as the new Q 9c). I guess I will buy the new Q 9c when it comes out but it ticks me off they can't fix this one. Any ideas....?????
