What does that mean? Is there a way around it? TIA

It probably means that you're trying to use a non-smartphone specific app. Or maybe that your phone is locked. I dunno if it would give you that error though. What app are you having problems with?

It's been on several programs I've tried ti install, usually it will say this was not designed for this device. How do you unlock the Q?

Easy enough. Get a copy of AEconfig and install it on your Q.

it could be either one... make 100% sure you have the Smartphone version of whatever you are installing, if that gives you a problem then yes, run AEConfig.

Any idea where to get this? All the links I've found take me to a German webpage with no links.

this probably means you are trying to install an .exe file that is meant to be installed from the PC while the Q is hooked up via active sync

I just had to do that with the .exe for Rampart Chess that I got from Handango.
