Not valid windows CE program?

Okay, I'm sure I have installed an .exe file on this thing by now. I'm having a brainfart on how to do it though. Is that when you just doubleclick the file and it installs to the phone? Activesync going of course.

depends.. there are .exe files out there that are directly run on the Q (often stand-alone programs that only contain 1 file, the .exe) then there are .exe install files that can be run/double clicked on the pc with the Q connected via Active Sync/WMDC.

just hook the Q up via active sync and put the exe file on the PC and double click on it
it will install on the Q

I guess it was too much to hope that it would be smartphone app. Even though it was on a websit called www.smartphone...something, and I clicked the link that said smartphone. I got it to try to install by double clicking on pc then after all that "...was not designed for this device." Bleh

It's here:

It's the second one down. I'd rather have the first one but I know it was made for ppc.

it tells you right there that its for

Download
Install from PC

meaning you have to run it from the PC

also, the first one has a cab file intended for the smartphone...did you try it out?

ok, the first one is a .cab file which goes on the Q, and started (executed) using the File Manager on the Q.

the second app (ShopEZ) goes on the pc, double-click the ShopEZ.exe file and it will extract 6 files, double click the setup.exe and it should install itself (make sure the Q is connected using Active Sync)

I tried the first one and I get the file not intended for this device message. I tried the scond one installing from my pc and once it tries to install it says the same thing.

Is there anything else I can try?
