Smile Newbie TCPMP Cabinet & Plugin Questions

I installed tcpmp.smartphone0.72rc1.exe on my Q this morning. The graphical interface is not what I expected. It is bare bones.

Do I need to install the tcpmp.smartphone.0.72rc1.cab to get a better user screen? I guess what I'm asking is what will the cab file do for the tcpmp program? How do I go about installing the cab file on the Q?

Also, what are the benifits of the plugins that are offered? I'm working from the http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ website and there aren't any descriptions of the files on the page.

Any help for a Q/TCPMP Newbie?

Thanks, Curt

The only difference between the .exe file and the .cab file is that the .exe is for installing from your PC via Active Sync and the .cab file is for installing directly from the device (Q). The end result is the same.

The plugins allow you to play additional multimedia file types via TCPMP. The specific file type is part of the file name of the plugin file you download (i.e. - speex, flac, etc.) , if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for the explanation! Since I already have the TCPMP working on my Q I guess I don't need to be concerned with the .cab or .exe files.

Should I be seeing play, pause, FF,etc. buttons on the Q TCPMP screen? All I'm seeing on the Q screen while playing a file is the file title with elapse time indication, a window area that would display available album art, and a slider for file play progress at the bottom.

It doesn't look like the screen shots of TCPMP I have seen. I guess that's what I'm after is the standard player control buttons displayed on the screen. Is the display of the control buttons an option that can be selected in a menu?

Thanks Again,

Curt

we dont have a mouse, buttons would be well silly

just use the buttons on your phone, right is ffd left is reverse the middle button (circle) is pause/stop whatever, scroll wheel is volume

seems pretty straight forward to me?
