Default New here, but... Stopping OctroTalk from disconnecting during a call?

That basically says it all. Is there a way to make it stay connected during a call? I notice frequently it disconnects me, sometimes even if I ignore a call. Any way around that? And also, I keep getting random "AIM Transport Errors", what's up with that? I tried Mundu because of the free software friday, but that didn't work either - I think because I have nicknames assigned for basically everyone; the people who didn't have one appeared online, everyone appeared offline. Any recommendations?

There is no way to allow a call to come through and use data at the same time. Though I think it is possible to give priority to data instead in the service menu.

Anything that goes through a transport for AOL is not going to be very fast or reliable. Also this means that they can directly monitor your conversation for any reason they want. Therefore, for AOL, Octrotalk is useless. Mundu sucks because: 1.It is programmed in .net 2.It is buggy. I use IM+ because it provides a direct connection to the AOL servers just like on a desktop PC. It is also a fast, native application with an excellent auto-reconnect feature.

Hmm. I see, I see. Understandable enough; I neded up purchasing AgileMessenger anyway, just because it seemed to be the most intuitive, or atleast user friendly. The price is a little outrageous ($45 for an unlimited license, or $12 per 3 months), but it works very well.

Is there anything kind of like the OctroTalk wallpaper for Agile that lets you see from the desktop if you have any messages? It plays a loud annoying sound, but if you miss that then you'd never know you have a message with Agile.

Thanks for the help, this place is a great resource

I like Agile too, but I have not used it much. I am not sure whether IM+, or the new IM+ beta will "popup" if minimized. It would be a good feature. When I am at home, I have the phone where I can see it with IM+ in the foreground. When I am away, the phone is usually on me so I can hear the custom sound I have chosen for an incoming message.

I would also like to clarify that when I said 'data' I meant cellular data. If you configure the phone to use the usb, bluetooth or wifi (q9) connections you can talk without any interruption.
