NES on your Q! (Play Mario Bros.)

has anyone else had problems with using pocket nes? when i play a rom the game always locks up when ever there is an in game "movie" during the game. It just stays showing the movements and never continues the game.

so the game freezes? what NES game as a "movie" in it? maybe Final Fantasy, but w.e. but either way, does pocket nes freeze?

The "movies" I am referring to are in every game I can think of, stuff like the players celebrating a goal in blades of steel, the video of the kick off in Techno Football, etc. Until I hit one of the items everything works fine. Then after I hit it the repeating animation continues and just never stops. For example when a goal is scored in Blades of Steal the players celebrate by the goal by raising and lowering their sticks. This sequence doesn't stop no matter what I do. I use these same ROMs on my computer so I know they are good.

On a little bit of a side note I was researching this issue I have and came across that PocketNester has a newer version of source forge. Has anyone used it yet? Which type would I need to download to work on an original Silver Motorola Q? It lists the following:

ARM
MIPS
ARM (ppc2002)
SH3

hmm.. dont know, but I think it would be funny for the first couple times. haha, then I would became annoyed.

anyways, i have no clue dude. for me, my nes doesn't freeze, and i play Mike Tyson's Punchout. that game has a bunch of junk. like the intro to each competitor. anyways, maybe it's the version you have. is it the latest version?

I asked this before a couple of days ago and I am actually confused because if I go start a new thread with this question am I gonna get bitched at for it? Cause Noone has commented on it lol.
Well heres the question again and maybe a few people can comment on it if possible! thanks.


you know in the mario games when you wanna run fast pressing B then jump pressing A, I am having trouble getting it to work good. this technique is needed alot.
example:
1. at the end of the level when you wanna run real fast (B) then jump (A) to get top flag points etc.

2. sometimes you need to get up to a high spot to get a firepower or wedge yourself between bricks or just run real fast and jump real high or far. this is even more inmortant in the higher levels and in mario 3. ( i wont even comment on 2 lol)

..and even runinng and ducking, sliding under things and other stuff where you have to git both buttions at once but one first then adding the other etc.

I know theres gotta be someon out there who knows what Im talkin about lol.
Can you tell me if theres a way to make the buttons work better or what you did or if you just have to deal with it or what? Cause i love mario 1 and 3 so much. but I cant even stand playing it on my Q for one level. its no fun ... any ideas? please!

i believe thats a limitation with the phone. you can only press one button at a time. my old phone did the same thing.

damn that would suck.
nobody has a hack or anything? someone should make one lol
so far it really only sucks on mario. but for me thats enough ...
whoever creates them emulators should totally hook that up!

The answer was posted so where. The PocketNester software can only deal with up to two button press at a time. I know they are working on a newer version so hopefully this will be resolved.

Yea I just went and tried it and it worked fine for me. I was confised for a minute cause it looked like it wouldnt let you select to play but you just gotta go next to your name and hit A or B. hope this helps...
