ok i am getting tired of shifting through the post since 2006. But what is the latest version of this emulator because i ahve the sneaking suspision that i dont have the latest one. Another thing, my a and b buttons simply wont function no matter what key i assign them to. any ideas?

I have what should be the latest version (0.9) on my apps page with a link to installation instructions. The button setup described in the link did not work for me, so I used the following:

Select: W
Start: E
Up: same as directions
Down: same as directions
Left: same as directions
Right: same as directions
B: M
A: .
Menu: P

Is there any way to play landscape without it being stretched so it is at its normal resolution. And also i see a flashing in the top right corner when I'm in game. Is this a common problem and is there a fix?

Technically, the Q's display is landscape (as opposed to portrait), I believe. How does PocketNesterPlus appear on your Q? Mine is full screen and is not stretched or distorted.

What exactly is flashing?

I get the same thing with mine, it's a couple of items on the top bar of the home screen. If I get a message while playing that icon flashes too. It doesn't interfere with the games, but it can get distracting. I just had to get used to it.

I think it's the battery meter and reception bars flashing in the corner. I get this when playing super mario bros. 3. I haven't tried any other games.

I haven't noticed anything like that when I use PocketNesterPlus . . .
