Default Motorola Software Update

Done some searching of the posts and can't find the answer i'm looking for, hopefully someone can help!

I'm attempting to upgrade my phone using the software update tool. It connects, begins the update, reboots the phone into the flash mode (i see this on the phone):

Motorola Flash Mode:
Bootloader Version:
BOOT_C_03.05.00R_MPAP

USB Cable Connected

Then the software update tool tells me "ERROR-Update has not been completed"

I tried looking on Motorola's site for some info, and the instructions there are very simplistic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Chris

Whose your carrier, Verizon or Sprint? If Sprint, go to Internet Explorer, click on Favorites, then to Sprint Powerdeck, then it will take you to a site and scroll down to "check updates" and click.

Default Verizon

Verizon is my carrier. They don't have a web link like that do they?

I had that problem. I disconnected the Q, re-connected it and tried again and it worked just fine the second time. I have no clue why it worked, but I hope it does for yoou as well.

Question Update

This might be a dumb question, but how do you know you need to update the Q? I just received it from Verizon, but there is nothing about it with them or with Motorola. They have the update, but not if you need it. Please let me know. Thank you.

First place I will look for update information will be sites such as this. Second will be the Motorola Website.
I have my Q through Sprint and it has a selection to update software. If there were one, it will automatically download and install.

I have the exact same problem right now but my Q froze and now I can't power it off. Is there another way to turn this thing off?

I got the same exact error twice - sprint carrier here. doesn't surprise me as it's windows - even tho the phone is cool.

I just gave up - at least I can dial and receive calls!
