Moto Q Hacks & Compact Framework 2.0 - Motorola Q Forum

I d/l the Freeware on this site called Moto Q Hacks because I want to do a few of the hacks everyone has been talking about...however, when I attempt to run the program it says I need to have compact framewrok 2.0 or higher.

Can anyone please take the time to explain to me "step by step" what I have to do in order to update my Q to compact framework 2.0?

Keep in mind my software is the updated Verizon Q software (I have 4 icons across instead of the old 3 icons across in my start menu.) But I want to Speed Up this Q like everyone is talking about.

go to this site: (clicky) and download the file NETCFSetupv2.exe and install it on your pc. It will use ActiveSync to install it on your Q. Really that is all there is to it... i have installed it and see no issues. you can also check this thread: (clicky)

Got the framework installed but can't figure out how to install the Moto Q Hacks cab. Any help would be appreciated

copy the cab file to the Q and execute the cab file from the Q...

try it and let me know if you need more help...

It worked I used the RESCO explorer and it worked great. Thanks for the answer and for being so fast. I was hoping I could get the bluetooth DUN up and running but after a little more research it looks like if you have the updated firmware it can't be done. What a "P" n "A" verizon is. Trying to suck that last nickle out of you and crippling perfectly great phones.

Oh Well as much as I hate to admit it Verizon never went down during Katrina in New Orleans metropolitan area and cingular and other carriers were months and really still haven't recovered.

i'm having similair problems, but i got everything to install and ran the motohacks..
i adjusted some settings but it wont save the settings and it wont apply the changes either.. i've done the reset also.

are there certain steps i have to take to get it done right?

Ditto. I have the same issue. I've emailed the developer but have gotten no response.

i uninstalled it.. i downloaded a random .cab format of PHM for smartphones, don't get the .exe (activesync) install..
then use the registry hacks.. that's what i did instead.

yeah...I did the same but went with RESCO. good enough if not better.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with getting the hacks to work using Moto Q Hacks. Is ANYONE using it successfully? Or is everyone just using the registry hacks?

Please reply. I'm really curious to know.
