Default MediaPlayer music volume died????

i use the speakers in the phone to entertain me at work when im bored and waiting around. well today i went to play a song and it played at maybe half volume, the windows media player volume was at 100% with the profile set to normal, which i have set to max volume for everything as i work in a noisy environment. I tried everything short of a master reset to make it louder but it just wont do it. when it rings it plays at the volume its supposed to, however WMP and the system sound preferences al play at what sounds like 60 or 70 % volume

is there a setting im missing somewhere? or can anyone give me another suggestion to try, next to the master reset....

thanks
stu
