Question MAC and Q and AIM, OH MY!

Hey all,
I just got my new Q yesterday, and am new to the whole smartphone PDA thing. I am an oldfashioned type of girl so I was very happy with my LG. However, due to work, I needed a bit more ooommmph to my wireless communications...anyway, I digress..

i have a few questions that I need help with:
1) i have read the other forums, and it seems MAC compatibility software is still being developed. i don't want to download and go thru all the problems if it isn;t going to work right...does anyone know when the alpha model will be up and running well?

2) I was very excited to have IM on my phone, and now I am bummed. I use AIM, and ther is no app on the Q for that...just MSN ( who uses MSN?).
So i went to AOL and had my IM forwarded to my phone and now they come in as texts...yuck...not user friendly too many steps to reply. Anyone know how I can use AIM as a real time IM other than agilemobile, which I guess you have to pay for?!? Or if you can tell me how agilemobile works? Is it like a normal IM interface?

3)last but not least, how do i change my home menu options. Voice recognition is the first menu item and it keeps going off in my purse. driving me nuts, i thought i was hearing voices! (i was, I guess )

Forgive me for my naivete, I am still getting used to this, and even though I am semi computer literate, this whole phone thing makes me feel like a freshman in calculous!
HELP!!! Ready to throw the damn phone out! Seems like a lot of work to get it to do the simple things I want it to do...is it just not going to work for this AIM/ MAC user?

Please advise....thank you for reading my diatribe!

je

P.s. pardon my grammar and punctuation, drank at dinner and am TIRED!

Well firstly let me welcome you to the forum. I'm a new Q user myself I just got mine last week. I've been using agilemobile which hasn't given me a hickup yet, seems as tho it's a 7 day all you can im trial period or so I've read. Although It hasn't given me any registration alert.. but yes it is a live im chat when you hit enter on your im side the people on the other side see your text as soon as it comes up on your screen. Agile also has a nifty "voice" feature where you press enter and it sends a voice clip to your buddy in the form of a link they press and can hear your voice. Very handy if you're busy and can't take a time out to type on the Qs qwerty keyboard.

About your mac software I'm not sure I own both but currently I've just been using my desktop to sync and what not works great.

as far as the voice recognition lol, like I said I'm new myself so someone else might need to help you on that, but as a temp fix lol press and hold the "home" button and that will pull up some options for you. Among them will be a "key lock" feature... hope I could help ya out!

Ah, other forums. Mac software for the Q has been developed, released and works great. In order to sync your Mac with the Q, you'll need Mark/Space's Missing Sync 2.5.1.

I think Gio has addressed your other questions. Welcome to Everything Q.

Try IM+, it does all the IM apps. AIM MSN Google Yahoo. Missing sync works well with USB cable to sync contacts and calendar, etc.
