Hi gang

Happy Hump Day!

I just downloaded the free trial of ListPro. I am guessing that the trial version is abbreviated and can't be manipulated/personalized as much as the real version? Can someone confirm this? I ask because my first instinct--because I'm a bibliophile of the nth order--was to start inputting my Books-To-Be-Read list and I found it annoying that I couldn't create separate title, author, etc. columns or spaces.

Also, if I download ListPro to my desktop computer as well, can I make it sync when I do auto-sync? And do I have to pay for both the phone and the desktop applications?

not sure about the trial vs. the full version...most trials for smartphones ive had are the full version...perhaps there is something you over looked...i dont know for sure...perhaps you can do this on the desktop version...

the desktop version can be bought and bundled together with the smartphone software...it wont use active sync but it has its own sync settings so when you hook it up to the PC with will transfer things over to the Q...
this is called the 'pro' edition...its 30 bucks and just the smartphone one is 20 bucks...

Create a new custom list. Highlight the list and select menu/properties/list columns. Once in this menu you can select menu and add custom columns or modify existing ones.

Have you gotten the syncing to work? I have the pro version (desktop plus smartphone version), and it tells me syncing is only supported for Pocket PC's. For smartphones, it says to "sync" you have to go to Explorer in ActiveSync and manually copy a file from the Q to your PC, and vice versa. That isn't what I would call "syncing", but that is all their help file says.

i dont have the program but im pretty sure thats not what they had in mind for 'syncing'
there is a PPC version and a smartphone version make sure you DL'd the right one...

Now for your questions. The trial version is full featured. It sounds like you are not finding the settings you need though. First, make sure to check out the downloadable docs here: http://iliumsoft.com/site/lp/lp_supt3.htm#doc

As for the columns, open ListPro to the "List Tree" where it shows the file name at the top and all your lists underneath (the My Lists default list is probably what you are in.) Select the list you want to edit then choose Menu->Properties->List Columns. You can change the columns there.

As for synching, for some reason we have yet to determine, Microsoft left File Synchronization out for WM Smartphone. Since ListPro uses File Sync to sync data, this caused a bit of a problem. For now you have to move the files over to the phone yourself. You can find information about that here: http://iliumsoft.com/site/lp/lp_supts1.htm

We are looking at an improved solution for ListPro 5.0 (in closed beta now) but I can't say much more at this time.
