Lap Link/Lotus Notes Problem - Motorola Q Forum

Well, I just got my Q and started surfing around the forums. We use lotus notes here at work, and I saw that Setting up Active Sync and Lap Link, would be one way of getting my calendar onto my Q. I don't have a data plan, so wireless sync is not an option. Anyway, I got it to recogize my and it acted like it was trying to sync the two, reading my lotus notes and everything, but I show nothing on my Q calendar. I don't know what else to look at, any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to solve the problem with "Lap Link", but, since at work we too use Lotus Notes I can tell you that "PDASync" works great in sync emails, tasks and calendar with the Q.

Ok, so I started looking further, and I can't find just a PDASync. I am using Lap Link PDASync. When I search for PDASync, it just brings up LapLink. Could you be more specific?

Everytime I try to syncronize, it wants to reinstall the software on my phone? Which device type should I pick? Microsoft Smartphone, Pocket PC, Smartphone 5.0. Anyone have any suggestions?

well.... I still haven't got PDASync working. Now my trial period has ran out. I am afraid to buy this and find out I still can't get it working. Are there any other suggestions for trying to get Lotus Notes sync'd up with my Q?

Sorry for answering so late, but i was away, traveling.

Just right now i'm installing LapLink PDASync (you are right they are the same!... shame on me) on a new pc at work.

Over the installation process i checked "Lotus notes" and "Smartphone WM 5.0" and the program finished its installation just fine. Right now i'm doing the first sync process in order to update my Q with the new email, calendar and contacs data.... so far no problem.

it is pretty estrange that the software tries to reinstall every time it is updating. I bet you already have done this, but: did you un-install teh program on the Q and tried a new installation.
