Default Internet Explorer Blocks Download

Everytime I download a Free Software it comes on a zip format. The Setup file is an xml file. When I execute it, it is blocked by the Internet Explorer Info Bar. When I click on the Info Bar to set it on Allow Blocked Content the bar fades away but nothing else happen. If I execute the setup file again is blocked again. I have tried changing the settings on the Security Tab of the Internet Options to no avail. Can anybody please help me with this. When the software comes with an .exe file, everything goes smoothly. Thanks

Default Executing Files

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Most software in ZIP files will unpack to an EXE file or CAB file. If there's an XML file, that serves as instructions to the installer; you aren't supposed to try to run it.

Are you sure the file isn't a CAB file? They often have the same icons as ZIP files, but you're supposed to install them on the Q, not open them on the PC.

If you want more help, tell us the specific program you're trying to install. Even better, link us to it.

Default Thanks. It worked

Thank you Steve. I installed it directly in the device and it worked fine. To tell you the truth, this is the first time that I install a CAB file directly in my device. Usually the installation process goes via my PC.

Yes, but CAB files are very useful because you don't need to be near a PC to install something new. With a connected PDA (like the Q), that can be very convenient.
