internet banking on Opera Mobile

I had been having trouble accessing my bank's online site using Opera Mobile. I was getting a message that their site does not support this browser. I found if I added a new section to the opera.ini file, I can now access my account online. Add the following two lines:

[User Agent]
Spoof UserAgent ID=2

The 2 represents Mozilla. The possible values are:

Browser to identify as

• Global values:
• 1 = Opera
• 2 = Mozilla
• 3 = Internet Explorer
• Site-specific values:
• 4 = Mozilla, Opera not mentioned
• 5 = Internet Explorer, Opera not mentioned

The default value is 1 (Opera). I tried 5, but that did not work. I have not tried 3 or 4.

This also helps in being able to access other websites for bill pay. I am able to access all my utilities online accounts. I could even get on to my Sprint account.

The opera.ini file is a text file in the \Application Data\Opera directory. Most people use ActiveSync to copy this file onto their PC. Use a text editor to add the lines. Copy the modified file back onto your device. Make sure you keep a copy of the original in case of problems. Good luck.
