Help: sync and using q as a modem problem.

Hello, I have 4 questions, I have searched and could not find my answer.

I installed the programs on the CD: 1. activesync and 2. dialup program.

Even though it says synced, it does not sync my contacts from phone to laptop. I'm doing this via USB cable. ( I think I need oulook express on my laptop, thats what I understand from my search on this site, and I dont have it on my pc)

Another question is How do I use the q as a modem so I can connect to the internet on my laptop. One of the main purposes of buying q was to connect to the net from pc. I downloaded the program from the cd, and using the usb cable. I activate the Modem Link via usb and still no connection.

what does Ev mean on top of the screen?
Also when I surf the net with internet explorer and when I'm done with it, I still see the two opposite arrows < > on the top far right corner of the screen as it sends and receives data. Is it? Charging me $ for the data?

you need outlook...not outlook express...but thats only to sync contacts and whatnot

ev is the speed...EVDO is the best then its 1X...the arrows indicate pulling data

if you have a data plan then it doesnt matter...if you dont have a data plan then yes you are getting charged...call your carrier and put a block on it

I only want to sync my contacts from phone to pc. I do not have outlook on my pc, I only have Outlook Web Access, and I don't think that's going to help. Where can I download a free copy of Outlook?

and 2nd question, how do I connect to the internet from my laptop using my phone via usb?

outlook web access doenst allow you to sync....so then youll need to use sprite backup or you can try this...

Do you know if Sprite back up phone book? Because all I want to do is transfer my phone book from Q to my laptop. It says you can backup data but just wanted to make sure if it backs up phonebok.
