Help backing up contact numbers - Motorola Q Forum

I need to back up my phone contacts on my Q, but I don't have Outlook installed. Can anyone tell me what folder on the phone has the contacts in it? Will I be able to drag it over and reinstall them after I upgrade the software?

I think they're stored in a system database (perhaps \pim.vol), but I'm not sure what will happen if you just copy that and try to restore it. I suppose it can't hurt to try, though -- at worst, you'll have to do a Master Reset to recover.

You can also use Wireless Sync to back them up on Verizon's servers.

I would download the program ShoZu. It's free and has a option to backup your contacts online in your ShoZu account. The program also alows you to upload photos on your phone to various picture sites.
