That's my doubt.

i think a better way is to replace the images instead of messing in the registry which as you have seen might not work for all screens.

Well.. I got it. Let's me tell you my experience.!

Some images can't see in windows folder on my movilnet Q from Venezuela. I don't know why.

I change all backgrounds in the registry except "in call and call received" backgrounds. Then try copy the "in call" file on windows folder and overwriting but my Q it's a daemon and nothing. I try to changing the name and great.. got it. Name is "cprogback_land.png"

I back to registry again and search for some name for call received background and nothing. Then try to create a new "string value" in folder and soft reset and happened. My phone did not have any images for this.!

Name "BKBitMapFile", String "\windows\call.gif

Background update. Problem solved.!
