How bout a program that doesnt have voice audible directions.. One that just picks up where you are and can give you directions from your current location to another location. I dont need the voice, just text directions...

let me clarify that...the programs give you step by step directions standard...but if you want a little beacon on the map to move with you THEN you need the receiver

Let me add something.. Im looking for something that will show me on my phone where I am and then give me directions from there.. Not something that I have to type in my current location by myself...

Windows Live Search will do that. You can set directions from GPS location. hey it is free, you should just give it a try.

search the forum for connecting your GPS receiver to whatever program you use...it will show you on the map and show you moving....
if you use google maps then you have to use a certain program to get it to work with the GPS..but say you use map4pda all you have to do is turn the map program on and the GPS receiver on and in the map menu search for the GPS device and your all set

shouldnt be to far away...dont want it to have a weak signal...also you want the receiver to be visable so if can pick up the satellites...so you wouldnt want to keep it in your glove box while using it
