I have downloaded and installed Google Maps 2.2. One issue I am having is that when I click on "My Location" I get a message that says, "Your handset does not seem to be compatible with My Location (beta) feature."

What does this mean exactly? How can I make my standard Q compatible with the "My Location" feature of this application?

Thanks!
Tom

I guess I assumed all of these phones had built-in GPS for at least emergency purposes but I guess that is not the case. So, this program will not be able to track my exact location with some sort of external GPS software or hardware?

Thanks!

yes, it will. my location is actually (primarily at least) used for cell tower triangulation. the only Q that I have heard of that is "compatible"with this beta feature is the Q9h (at least for those running the pre-release version of wm6.1)

my location uses the cell towers to approximate your location. The feature did not work for many phones but if you had gps running and tried my location it would use gps instead of trying to use towers.
