Default GMail Is introducing IMAP for Smart Phones

Guys,

As some of you know, IMAP is the best way to access your email from multiple devices (e.g. phone or desktop). It keeps the same information synced across all devices so that whatever you do in one place shows up everywhere else you might access your email.

Gmail is doing IMAP. its free on all devices and platforms.

Are you having any issues with an email sent from your Q showing up twice in the web version of gmail? Mine is doing that.

This is great news but I'm wondering how it will work with this issue of recieving sent items in your inbox.

My solution is to use two gmail accounts with pop3, one for sending the other for reiceving and it works perfectly, however with imap I don't think that would work. However if the sent items in your inbox issue doesn't happen with imap then it won't matter!

Does that make sense!?

Well I've set it up for IMAP and I'm sending and recieving emails successfully. The emails are also being sync'd correctly when they are deleteted and marked as read. Which is all good.

I'll let you know what happens with the duplication of sent items though!

Craig

I set it up on my Q yesterday but have an issue with some emails not displaying the body of the message. In other words, I get the subject line, but when i go into the message it's blank. Anyone else have this problem?

Nope. I am not having that problem. Looking good @ my end. How did you configure it?

i just used the instructions that i found on googles site. I used the instructions for the Q mobile 6, but i have a mobile 5 version if that matters. It's weird though because some emails come in fine, but others such as emails from Monster.com do not display the text in the body of the message.

May I ask, which version of the Q do you have and what instructions did you use to configure?
