Default Funambol - Push email

Anyone here familiar with Funambol? (funambol.com)

It appears to be an open source Mail and PIM manager that can be installed on Windows or Linux servers. My main reason for looking at it is to have push mail services. I would like to be able to push mail to my Q from my web host, and this program seems to offer that prospect.

I have root access on my web and mail servers (all Linux)... so installation is definitely a possibility. If anyone is familiar with this program, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I use funambol to sync my calendar with scheduleworld.com - because it can in turn sync with Google Calendars - the net effect being my Q calendar mirrors my Google calendar.

Haven't used it for email though.

I downloaded and installed it. Syncs my contacts and schedule wonderfully, but for some reason, the email sync button is grayed out. Anyone else have this issue?

You just have to go into Menu -> Settings and check Email.

Hello,
my suggestion is to try out first the free myFUNAMBOL site. You can sign up at http://my.funambol.com. Once you see it working, you can download the server as well and install it on your machine and tweak it as much as you want (it is open source, you have the source code ;-)

Cheers,

fabrizio

If you don't want to install and maintain Funambol server on your machine you can use the ready-made service myFUNAMBOL offered by Funambol.

In case you want to experiment installing the server you can refer to Funambol community support for more precise help.
