Default Fuel Mileage App

Hey all, just joined the forum today. I bought a Q a few weeks ago and love it so far, except mine failed yesterday Did the llatest Motorola update and Verizon could not get it to connect to the network anymore so they are express shipping me a new one. That's a bummer, but it happens.

Anyways, on my old Treo 650 I had a handy fuel mileage program and I was wondering if there was anything out there for our Q's. I own a 2000 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI and I like to track how efficient my diesel engine is running after all my performance modifications. I tracked my car about a year ago on a drive from Michigan to Arizona and got a average of 52mpg

And a random picture of my car just because I love showing it off

I used to use Fuel Log on a Treo also. It seems this was last posted awhile ago. Has there been any new developments to make an equivelant for the Q yet?

What all did the other app for the treo do? Maybe it could be easily made for the Q?

I am guessing it basically let you enter the mileage at fillup and the gallons pumped, plus the current date? I could do it, I have the sdk for smartphone...

Let me know if there is something I am missing...

That would be great if you could! i would have to paypal a little something something your way. Input wise it was Date, odometer reading, gallons put into tank, and you could either fill in cost per gallon or total cost.
Output screen one would give you snap shot of all your inputs in a table and screen two would give you average MPG, average cost, average time between fills with it displayed in a scatter line chart below that could be configured for charting anything off the first output screen. ie looking at mpg for each of your fills. Let me know if i over complicated/confused my explination.

I understand that you want something to do all the calculations for you, but until then you could go back to the old trusty pen and paper...

Good point... To the same token why don't I take out my rolodex for all of my contacts? I have always believed the purpose of the device we carry is to simplify all facets of our lives that it can; and this would add to that simplification for me. Of course I will continue to use a similar approach to what you described until such an animal exists, but I would be grateful when/if it becomes available.

"fuel mileage windows mobile" on google comes up with a couple things. Would any of these things work?

Ya, there is enough out there already... maybe some day I'll make a home made app.
