Freeware Messenger?! - Motorola Q Forum

Well my quest to find a freeware universal messaging system seems to be fairly futile. I want to be able to connect to all the messaging systems with a freeware program.

I am not satisfied with any solutions out there and really don't to drop a ton of money on IM+ or Agile. I ended up getting this Q for $70 after mail-in rebate and $70 a month for service + 250 text messages + ringbacks. I'm not gonna spend $45 on a frickin messaging program.

btw .. I get 20% off the PDA plan and 17% off the Voice plan.

Any ideas?

sadly there are no longer any free IM programs with Octro going to a pay program. if you are looking for cheap look in to Mundu. its only $11 and its actually pretty good!

I wonder when Octro will start charging? I have been using it since March and it keeps saying the free period will end at some time in the future. Depending on how much they want for it, I will likely stick with Octro. It does everything I need.

hmmm i thought someone had posted it was pay only now...either way eventually it will be that way.
when i had it when it first came out it was very text based and not very graphic...has this changed?

I'm still using it for free. And yes, it is very text based still, but for me that isn't a problem.
