Anyone know of a good freeware backup program?

Windows has had a backup program built-in since Windows 95, so i'm more than a little shocked that Windows Mobile doesn't include a backup utility.

Not yet unforunately. There is one you can get that works amazing and allows you to either backup to memory card or to a computer.

It's not $20, it's $30 for the Full version. The $20 Lite version is worthless because you can't backup to the PC, and isn't that the point?

or you can just backup to the Q & move the backup file to the pc... and it's either pay or run the risk. to me, i run the risk.. i have copies of everything important, like contacts, calendar & sync work related files on a daily basis w/ free software :}

The lite version creates a full exe back-up to your storage card and if your Q crashes and you master reset or you get a new Q you run the backup exe off the card and voila. Master resets don't affect the card but if you're worried copy the file to your PC like RB says. That's the point.

Other than that, backup your PIM and reinstall your apps, home screens and hacks. Also Mobsync can be used to sync other folders.

You asked a question. We give the only answer we have and you basically say the solution is worthless and pointless because we can't give you a free program. Sounds kind of unappreciative. Not even a "Thanks"

what? How do you backup a 4 gigabyte mini sd to the 64 meg Q?

By backing up to the Q, I think he meant to the card....but you would only backup up the system, programs, hacks, etc. The memory card (docs, music, videos) data can just be copied to your PC.

I use Sprite to put my system back to where I have it tweaked after a master reset, which doesn't affect the card.

So I just keep half the card empty forever so the other half can be a backup?

That said sprite backup full works great. It's much slower than I would have liked, took 5 minutes to restore 34 megabytes to the card so restoring a few gigabytes would take overnight but it's better than nothing.

huh... good to know, i'll give that a try because it's sloooooow to restore to the card. 80 megabytes in 14 minutes.
