I'm not. Is that where your problems are coming from?

I'm not sure. I mean, it takes a long time to load b/c of my folders, but once that is done the bugginess (inability to change options and it won't hold my TXT signature and flat out locks up when trying scroll upwards in the Storages settings) doesn't really seem to have anything to do with Exchange, do you think? That's why I think it might we a conflict with my other applications. Are you running a bunch of stuff on your phone?

DrQ--seems like I looked at Profimail, too, but don't remember why I didn't keep it. Do you have a link? Maybe it didn't work with Exchange?

rudeboy--I'll let you know if customer service is interested this go-round!

Okay. I did a Hard Reset. I got the Active Sync going and the Exchange server working.

I have installed NOTHING ELSE. I installed the September build of Flexmail. I went under Settings to Storages. I rearranged the order of the Local Folders, the SMS, and the ActiveSync. I hit okay. The multi-colored thingy is STILL going around.

I have a TON (like probably in the hundreds) of folders of old emails that I have in a hirerachical (spell that--I have no clue) system. I am beginning to suspect if I archived them (because I have to be able to refer back to them) maybe some of this would be alleviated.

I do notice that I have been able to make some previously-unable changes...

...more later...

So Sulster, or any other Flexmail users...is it worth it?

Besides tidying and prettying up my mail, it looks like it would push my Hotmail, AOL, and a corporate Outlook accounts. I dont have any huge amounts of mail and would manage my work Outlook at work, so storage is no biggie.

Wouldn't use it for text, so does it interfere with Extreme Text? Does it mess with Extreme Agenda?

I'd pay $30, as long as it pushes those accounts good and doesn't fight with my Extreme stuff. It sure looks like a decent program.

Also, is it like the Extreme stuff, where I'd be not totally sure if when I hit the email button I'd be taken to Flexmail or to the default Outlook/Hotmail?

Thanks, any thoughts would be great!

For me, no. I sync with an Exchange server, so I already get the "push". But it is so buggy and weird, even in the latest version, that I quit using it again. I am begging Birdsoft to do an email program!

It did take over the email button completely and it handles Text, but not as a threaded text. I'm not sure what would happen with it and Xtext.

Wow! Now that would be sweet! Then I could tell people I have the Birdsoft version of the Q!!

Maybe I'll try the trial over this weekend...see if it plays well with others!

Thanks!

it's better than the built-in email app in the way it displays email but it doesn't really give you any more options for downloading email. Considering Outlook works so great on PCs and PPCs I'm shocked at how crappy the default email app is in the Q.

Wish Flexmail came with a free subscription to izymail, I finally broke down and paid for izymail so I could access to everything on hotmail, including downloading all attachments. So far it's definitely worth the $18 a year, now my Q is like Versamail on the Palm.

Flexmail is pretty slow thought, even at 312mhz it's much slower than Versamail on the 126mhz Palm Tungsten E when accessing or opening emails.

I definately see the bugs every one else sees...kinda slow, some Outlook messages arrive at the wrong end of the inbox, etc..

I definately like the looks but yea, same downloading probs for Hotmail, AOL Idle kinda works, Yahoo looks like you need the purchased subscription..etc

After I unchecked FM from taking over and went back to the default mail, I realized the defaults not all bad!

Checking into this Izymail business next!

Thanks!

Time to wake this thread up...

Ok, this is the 3rd time I have given FlexMail a shot in the past few months... Now, I get my AOL imap4 account to setup instantly with the Q9c default mail setup wizard.

When I try to add the same account to FlexMail, it never works... It just fails.... From what I can tell the settings are the same!

Here's the lovely error:

Transport Error: The destination network is unreachable. Account: myemail@aol.com
server imap.aol.com
protocol: imap4. Port 143. SSL off
error code: #80C00010.

I even tried enabling SSL, and no luck...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt!

I use those setting in Profimail and they work fine. Been using it for few months and is alot better than the original Q's app. At least I get HTML and store a copy of my online directories on my mini SD. Clunky interface but works, just no HS plugin.
Getting a Q9c soon. How's the WM 6.0 pocket Outlook for managing IMAP?
